Poly selfbreed MYOs are back in stock for the entire month of February! You can purchase them at the Starstop Shop and Sea Breeze Shop for Cloud Coins, and they can be used to create a character with up to four parents.

Additionally, regular selfbreed MYOs are 50% off for the entire month, and Underglazed Vessels are temporarily available to purchase with a limit of 3 per user!

Poly selfbreeds will be added and discounts will be applied to the Ko-fi shop starting tomorrow. There will also be a Valentine's item bundle available!

Valentine's Mystery Adopts:

We will be posting a batch of Valentine's-themed mystery adopts this year! These will be sold for $25 each.

The batch will be posted on the 14th!

CC Gachas:

We are also having two Cloud Coin gachas this month! Both will be going live on the 15th.

OOAK Pet Variants:

We will be hosting another gacha for OOAK pet variants this month! Rolls will cost 2,500 CC each, and will distribute a unique Valentine's themed variant of an on-site pet. These variants will not be obtainable through any other means, and thus are completely unique individuals.

Randomized MYOs:

We will also be hosting a gacha for randomized MYOs with pre-rolled traits and predetermined color palettes. Rolls will cost 2,000 CC each.

Guest Artist Opportunity:

We are looking for guest artists to help make designs for our Valentine's pet variant gacha! You can be of any age to apply, and will recieve 2,500 CC for each design that you make.

The application form will close and artists will be chosen on February 4th. Designs will be due on February 14th.

We have added three new common traits this month! We will be going over the masterlist and updating any characters that use these features under other traits shortly.

DIY PET VARIANT TICKETS:

Some of you may have DIY Pet Variant Tickets in your inventory from events this winter. These are now able to be used to create custom pet variants!

Submit this prompt with a ticket attached and fill out the form to redeem your tickets.

Rules:

• All images must be SFW and cannot contain heavy realistic gore.
• Pet variants must still be reasonably recogniseable as the base pet species.
• You must already own the pet that you wish to use the voucher on.
• Image dimensions must match those of the base pet.
• Images must be uploaded and linked somewhere where the staff can access them. Discord links will not be accepted!
• You must attach a voucher to your prompt submission in order to use it!

FEBRUARY PAY-to-enter raffle:

Here are the new prompts for part 5! As a reminder:

Story prompts must be completed in order, and can only be completed once per person. They must also be completed by you. While you can include other users' characters (with permission), the focal character(s) must be your own and other users cannot submit your drawing to the prompt.

Event prompts are repeatable, and can be completed as many times as you want during the event's duration, in order to obtain resources and other items. Other people can fulfill event prompts for you, as long as they feature your characters! Be sure to read the prompt rules thoroughly.

Story Prompt:

Show your Space Station character(s) brainstorming what to do next!

Rules:

• If drawing for this prompt, it MUST be at least a shaded fullbody with a simple scene background!
• If writing for this prompt, it MUST be a minimum of 750 words!
• This prompt MUST be completed by the character owner
• This prompt can only be completed once!
• Your piece MUST be submitted to the event gallery AND Event prompt! (As well as when submitting the prompt, you'll need to link to the gallery submission. • Your piece MUST be submitted to the event gallery AND Event prompt! (As well as when submitting the prompt, you'll need to link to the gallery submission. As a reminder, with the recent changes you will now need to own a character in order to use encounters. Without the use of food items, each character will recieve 3 energy per day, and you can change your character up 3 times per day. Rewards from encounters are now granted to the active character's inventory - remember to check there if you're unsure of where something may have gone!

Additionally, some encounters now have the chance to inflict status conditions onto characters. Some options on some encounters also require specific items to be in your character's inventory to be chosen.

Trait Adjustments/Reminders:

• Multiple Shaped Clouds (CRC)/Unique Clouds (CRC): Shaped Clouds (multiple or unique) no longer requires the clouds to completely cover the tailtip. However, there still needs to be a shape close to that area, to show there was at least an effort! This is because some shapes are difficult to fully cover the tip, so we wished to give people some leeway!
• Flat Soda (SDC)/Frozen Soda (SDC): Sodacats with Flat Soda or Frozen Soda do not require fizz at the tip of their tails! They can still have them, but it is not required!
• Missing Head/Face (all): Previously, it was required that all characters with this trait still have ears (or horns, for Guppymanders). However, from now on, so long as the head is completely missing or replaced, ears/horns are no longer required. If just the face is missing, and the rest of the head is present, ears/horns must still be there!!
• Shaped Tail (CRC): If the Cirrocanius has a Shaped Tail, and the tailtip is made of fur (or other non-sky material), then clouds must be present at the "tip" of the sky portion!

STAFF APPLICATIONS:

In order to reduce strain on staff, particularly during events and large updates, we have decided to introduce Species Artists as a new role for our staff team. Species Artists will be responsible for the creation of website graphics such as item art on a sign-up basis.

This position is non-monetary and paid via a special on-site currency that can be used in the Staff Shop to purchase species items. Additionally, Species Artists will have the right to participate in USD adopt batches, gachas, breedings, and other design opportunities.

You must be at least 18 years old to apply. The sign-up form will close on January 7th, and we hope to announce new staff on January 10th.

SCAVENGER HUNT:

For this intermission, we are hosting a small scavenger hunt! Each target contains a random prize, which can include crafting materials, Cloudcoins, or MYO items. There are no first-come, first-served prizes.

Hunt targets can be found on any page that has text and is accessable by members of the site. This includes character notes, descriptions, and profiles. 

Your first hint is: "I heard the feline was quite young… go and check up above. Maybe he’s having some fun."

The scavenger hunt will end on January 5th. You can track your progress here.

MISC:

• In case you missed it, Transparency has been added as a new Fabled trait for Spacecats!
• We recently noticed that selfbreed items were mistakenly still discounted from Peace and Love back in February. This has been corrected, and items will now cost full price once more.
• Pet drop rates have been adjusted for balance reasons. Out of season seasonal pets no longer drop items.
• The amount of clay needed to craft Clayfox MYOs has been dramatically increased for balance reasons, as there are extremely high quantities of clay in circulation at the moment.
• The next part of Disquiet will be released on January 5th!
• We apologise for the number of delays that have occurred over the course of the past few months. Many of our senior staff members have been experiencing health struggles, which takes priority over species work.

• The OOAK Pet Variant gacha has been delayed by one day. It will now be going up on December 16th.
• Pinniped Tail has been introduced as a trait for Guppymanders! It is currently lacking a visual guide, which will be amended soon.

Winter Seasonals:

Winter seasonals (prompts, encounter regions, forage locations, new pets, etc.) will be pushed back till December 8th. Autumn seasons will remain open until then!

Winter OOAK Pet Variant Gacha:

We will be hosting another OOAK Pet Varient Gacha on 12/15! Rolls will cost 2,500 CC each, and will distribute a unique winter themed variant of an on-site pet. These variants will not be obtainable through any other means, and thus are completely unique individuals.

GUEST ARTIST OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a handful of guest artists to create designs for a OOAK pet variant gacha! You can be any age to apply and will receive CC for any pet variants you make! :]

The form will close on 12/4, after which those chosen will be contacted with further details.

Secret Santa:

Our secret santa form has closed and we will be contacting everyone with their partners soon!

As a reminder:
All art will be due on the 31st of December! If you've sign up and at some point something comes up and you're unable to finish the art please contact a mod by the 26th so we can find a backup for you. If you do not finish the art and do not contact us by the 26th to let us know you won't be able to finish you will receive a strike.
If you sign up to be a backup artist you will be contacted if someone drops! the due date for backup artists will be the 10th of January.

All art submitted, regardless of how much of the character is drawn, must be colored and cleanly lined. Fullbodies don't need to be shaded, but headshots must be.

Hi everyone! Part 4 of the Disquiet event is here - we're very sorry for the delays!

PLEASE READ THIS NEWSLETTER IN FULL.

An Important Reminder:

We do not tolerate any form of cheating in our events. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Multiaccounting, including getting friends to sign up just to send you items
• Exploits that are discovered that are not promptly reported, and are instead used to get a large quantity of items
  • You are also disallowed from telling other people about exploits that you find, other than staff when you report it
  • If you find an exploit by mistake, you will not be punished so long as you let us know immediately
• Hacking the website, or other people's accounts
• If you cheat in these ways, then we will find out. We do not tolerate it whatsoever, as it gives users an advantage over others. This includes getting a mass amounts of MYOs to use to make characters, as well as trading illegitimate items for art and characters.

If we catch you cheating, then you will be given a full-site ban, the length of which varying depending on the severity of the offense.

boss fights:

Part 3's boss was defeated with a final score of 25 points, far surpassing the required 15!

As a reward, everybody who participated by submitting an Unexpected Fright prompt will recieve 100 Cloudcoins, 1 Carnivorous Plant Seed, and 1 Random Item Box!

Part 4's boss is THE SQUEEMOTHER!

To participate in the boss fight you must do the Intimidation prompt! The requirements and information on that prompt are listed in the section below this, doing so will reward you with some items + 1 point of damage to the boss. You can view everyones progress here! If this boss is deafeated before the next part, every participant will recieve the following: 100 Cloudcoins, Random Item Box x1, and an exclusive pet!

As a reminder:

Boss fights are goals that the community must work towards together. The 'boss', whether it be an enemy or a task to be completed, will have a site-wide health bar that can be depleted (or filled) by completing prompts! The next part will be released regardless of if the boss fight is completed, but if the boss is defeated before then, everybody who participated will be able to claim a reward!

Prompts:

Here are the new prompts for part 4! As a reminder:

Story prompts must be completed in order, and can only be completed once per person. They must also be completed by you. While you can include other users' characters (with permission), the focal character(s) must be your own and other users cannot submit your drawing to the prompt.

Event prompts are repeatable, and can be completed as many times as you want during the event's duration, in order to obtain resources and other items. Other people can fulfill event prompts for you, as long as they feature your characters! Be sure to read the prompt rules thoroughly.

Event prompt submissions will also make contribute to the progress of ongoing boss fight!

Story Prompt:

Show your Space Station character(s) facing off against the Squeemother!

Rules:

• If drawing for this prompt, it MUST be at least a shaded fullbody with a simple scene background! The Squeemother must also be at least implied to be present - this can be as minimal as a shadow or falling feathers. A reference image for the Squeemother can be found here.
• If writing for this prompt, it MUST be a minimum of 750 words!
• This prompt MUST be completed by the character owner
• This prompt can only be completed once!
• Your piece MUST be submitted to the event gallery AND Event prompt! (As well as when submitting the prompt, you'll need to link to the gallery submission. Gallery submissions can still be linked to before official approval/while pending, so there should be no reason you can't link it when submitting your piece! Prompt submissions with outside links like Discord, sta.sh, etc. will be rejected.)

Rewards:

• A Feat of Bravery Patch
• 100 cc
• 20 user exp
• 20 character exp
• Squee pet

Event Prompt:

Show your Space Station character(s) encountering something larger than they are! This prompt is vauge, so interpret it as you wish.

Rules:

• If drawing for this prompt, it MUST be at least an unshaded fullbody with a simple scene background!
• If writing for this prompt, it MUST be a minimum of 500 words!
• A maximum of 3 characters can be in one scene, this may be changed in the future.
• This prompt can be completed by someone else for you, so long as it depicts your character! Rewards will be given to the person whose character was drawn or written about!
• Your piece MUST be submitted to the event gallery AND Event prompt! (As well as when submitting the prompt, you'll need to link to the gallery submission. Gallery submissions can still be linked to before official approval/while pending, so there should be no reason you can't link it when submitting your piece! Prompt submissions with outside links like Discord, sta.sh, etc. will be rejected.)
• The person who completed the piece will be the one to upload to the gallery, not the one who owns the character!

Foraging and Encounters:

There is one more new location to forage at and one more new encounter location during this part!

As a reminder, with the recent changes you will now need to own a character in order to use encounters. Without the use of food items, each character will recieve 3 energy per day, and you can change your character up 3 times per day. Rewards from encounters are now granted to the active character's inventory - remember to check there if you're unsure of where something may have gone!

Additionally, some encounters now have the chance to inflict status conditions onto characters. Some options on some encounters also require specific items to be in your character's inventory to be chosen.

We only have one new crop for this round, Turnips! Turnips are grown in the Under Awan area.

Underglazed vesselS:

Underglazed Vessels, the selfbreeding MYOs for Clayfoxes, are now functional!

These work a little differently from the other selfbreeds. Creating a slot will instead roll a pool of traits from the parents for you, similar to a random MYO. It will also generate a color palette suggestion, but you are not required to use it in your design so long as your character still resembles it's parents to a reasonable degree - it's just for fun! There is also a chance to generate twins.

To create a slot, rather than opening the item from your inventory, you need to go to the pairings page, linked under 'play' on the navbar. You will have to attach your Underglazed Vessel and set the parents, and will also have the opportunity to attach a Lucky Charm.

If you want to use a parent Clayfox owned by a user other than yourself, they will have to grant you a breeding permission. They can do this by going to the breeding permissions page accessible on the sidebar of the character's masterlist entry. All characters have 100 breeding permissions that you can grant or use - if you somehow run out, you can request more for free.

You will not be able to add or remove traits until after the kit design is already approved, but a Lucky Charm can be used whilst generating the slot to increase the odds of inheriting Mythical rarity traits.

If you happen to roll a kit with an impossible set of traits (such as a tail modifier with no base tail shape) you can submit it to the Random MYO Fixes prompt.

The way non-Clayfox selfbreedings work has not been changed in any way.

misc:

• All characters now have a colors field on their masterlist entries. Some existing characters have had them automatically generated based on their images and some have not - we're unsure of why this is. This happened as a side effect of our update and we cannot find a correlation between characters with and without it.
• If you happen to want us to manually generate the palette on one of your characters you're free to ask us to, but it is completely optional and has no real function. Keep in mind these palettes may also pull from unusual places such as lineart, shading, or backgrounds and thus may not be truly representative of a characters' colours.
• winterbunz now has a staff sona!
